CO: Fourth of July

After dinner, we headed over to the Sports Authority Field, the home of the Denver Broncos, to watch fireworks together.  This was during (but towards the end of) all their awful fires that took place this summer, so there were very strict bans on all fireworks, any time, any where, no way, no how, just don't do it. So, our viewing options were limited, but we weren't at all disappointed with what we saw that night.
We headed straight to the stadium and found a park nearby-- lots of people were parking in an empty parking lot across the street and it seemed like a pretty good location to be.  We wished we had brought chairs to sit on, but the hood of our car with a blanket over it worked quite well, too.
Waiting for the fireworks to start.. We waited, and waited, and waited. But we did have a pretty great view.

Nathan and Freddy got a little antsy and started playing games.
They may or may not have involved tickling and lots of laughing, too.
Always fun to see my boys having a good time together... :)
And then the fireworks started! Yay!
{It was also exciting to get to use my fireworks setting on my new camera.
I was a little worried that they wouldn't come out, but we got quite a few neat shots!}
I just love the Fourth of July. :)
And Nathan loves fireworks.. so I'm pretty sure he loves the Fourth of July, too.
Yay! What a great show! :) Day one in Denver had come to a close, and we were so pleased with how well it went.  We were a little worried that we wouldn't get to see any fireworks, with all the bans in effect, but Denver really pulled through on this one. ;)
